Serving Clients from Edson, Hinton, Jasper & Surrounding Areas
Laser hair removal is a safe, effective way to reduce unwanted hair and enjoy smoother skin with less shaving, waxing, and irritation. Using advanced laser technology, we target the hair follicle beneath the skin's surface to help reduce future hair growth while protecting the surrounding skin.
Over a series of treatments, most clients experience significantly less hair growth, smoother skin, and fewer ingrown hairs.
Whether you're looking to treat facial hair, underarms, legs, bikini area, or larger body areas, laser hair removal offers a long-term solution that can simplify your routine and boost your confidence.

THE TECHNOLOGY WE TRUST
Powered by Candela GentleLase Pro®
At The Skin Room, we use the Candela GentleLase Pro®, one of the most trusted and clinically proven laser hair removal systems available today. Recognized worldwide as a gold standard in laser hair removal, this advanced technology is designed to deliver effective results with a focus on comfort and safety.
It works by delivering precise laser energy to the pigment within the hair follicle. The follicle absorbs the energy, helping to reduce its ability to produce new hair while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
Candela technology has been used by medical professionals and aesthetic clinics around the world for decades and is known for its safety, reliability, and consistent results.

Additional Information
-
Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap against the skin, similar to a rubber band. Our Candela GentleLase Pro® features a built-in Dynamic Cooling Device™ that delivers a cooling burst before each laser pulse, helping make treatments much more comfortable.
-
Because hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are needed to effectively target each hair during its active growth phase. Most clients require 6 to 8 treatments for optimal results, followed by occasional maintenance treatments if needed.
-
Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction. Many clients experience a significant reduction in hair growth after completing their treatment series, with any remaining hair often becoming finer and lighter. Occasional maintenance treatments may be recommended, especially for hormonal hair growth.
-
Yes. Laser hair removal is an excellent option for many people with PCOS or hormonal hair growth. While hormonal conditions can continue to stimulate new hair growth over time, laser treatments can dramatically reduce unwanted hair and make it much easier to manage. Some clients may require maintenance treatments to maintain their results.

Yes. We recommend shaving the treatment area approximately 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid waxing, tweezing, or threading for at least four weeks before treatment, as the laser needs the hair follicle to be present for the treatment to work effectively.
-
Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners before your appointment. After treatment, we recommend protecting the treated area from the sun and following your personalized aftercare instructions to support optimal healing and results.
-
Most appointments are scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the treatment area and your hair growth cycle. We'll recommend the ideal schedule for you during your consultation.
Post-Treatment Care Instructions for laser hair removal:
Proper aftercare helps minimize irritation and supports the best possible results from your treatment.
Immediately After Your Treatment
It's normal to experience mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling around the hair follicles for a few hours after your appointment. This is a normal response and typically resolves on its own.
If needed, apply a cool compress to the treated area to help soothe the skin.
For the First 24 to 48 Hours
To allow your skin time to recover, we recommend avoiding:
• Hot baths or hot tubs
• Saunas or steam rooms
• Intense exercise that causes excessive sweating
• Tight clothing that may rub against the treated area
• Harsh skincare products containing retinoids, exfoliating acids, or scrubs on the treated area
Instead, keep the area clean, wear loose-fitting clothing when possible, and apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer if your skin feels dry.
Sun Protection Is Essential
The treated skin will be more sensitive to UV exposure.
• Avoid direct sun exposure whenever possible.
• Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily to exposed treatment areas.
• Avoid tanning beds and self-tanners until your skin has completely recovered.
Hair Shedding Is Normal
Over the next 1 to 3 weeks, you may notice treated hairs appearing to grow before they begin to shed. This is completely normal and a sign that the treatment is working.
Please do not wax, tweeze, or thread between appointments, as the laser needs the hair follicle to be present for future treatments. Shaving is perfectly fine if needed.
When to Contact Us
While side effects are uncommon, please contact us if you experience:
• Blistering
• Persistent swelling lasting longer than 48 hours
• Signs of infection
• Any reaction that concerns you
We're always happy to answer questions and ensure your healing is progressing as expected.
